## Your grand prize is what sells the tickets.

The prizes that sell the most tickets are trips, VIP experiences, and big nights out, and risk-free packages let you offer them with $0 upfront, paying only if they sell.

Donated prizes fill the small draws. These are the grand prizes chairs actually add, with $0 due unless the prize is awarded:

Overview

Pick a prize type that fits your crowd. Then decide how you get it. You can ask for donated gifts. You can also add a risk-free package as a grand prize. You pay a nonprofit cost only if that prize is awarded.

Real packages chairs add include a [Wrigley Field rooftop night](https://charityauctions.com/risk-free-auction-items/wrigley-field-rooftop) (nonprofit cost $499), a [Las Vegas VIP weekend](https://charityauctions.com/risk-free-auction-items/las-vegas-vip-weekend) ($900), a [Broadway Night Out](https://charityauctions.com/risk-free-auction-items/broadway-night-out) ($1,700), and a [New Orleans food day](https://charityauctions.com/risk-free-auction-items/new-orleans-food-day) ($499). Each one comes with listing copy, a Display Sheet, and a kit.

CharityAuctions.com is the only platform where nonprofits can browse risk-free consignment items and run their entire auction in one place — no separate vendor, no extra logins.

This page is prize types. For formats, see [raffle ideas](https://charityauctions.com/raffle-ideas). For basket themes, see [raffle basket ideas](https://charityauctions.com/raffle-basket-ideas). ## Add a risk-free grand prize

Donated prizes fill the small draws. One big prize sells more tickets. Four real examples: Wrigley Field Rooftop Night, nonprofit cost $499. Las Vegas VIP Weekend, nonprofit cost $900. Broadway Night Out, nonprofit cost $1,700. New Orleans Food Day, nonprofit cost $499. You pay $0 unless the prize is awarded.

What works

## What Makes a Good Raffle Prize

A good raffle prize is easy to name in one line.

- **People can picture it.** A movie night or a night out is easy to want a ticket for.

- **It fits your room.** School nights like family prizes. Dinner crowds like a night out.

- **It looks like a prize.** Show a photo. Put a card on it. Say what is included.

Do not stack random gifts in a bag and call it a prize.

Prize types

## Raffle Prize Ideas by Type

Use these as donated prizes. Add 1 package if you still need a grand prize.

### Travel and nights out

A trip or a night out is the prize people talk about.

Ready packages include a [Las Vegas VIP weekend](https://charityauctions.com/risk-free-auction-items/las-vegas-vip-weekend), a [Broadway Night Out](https://charityauctions.com/risk-free-auction-items/broadway-night-out), and a [Napa Signature Weekend](https://charityauctions.com/risk-free-auction-items/napa-signature-weekend). You pay only if the prize is awarded.

For more travel, see [charity auction travel packages](https://charityauctions.com/auction-travel-packages).

### Food and dining

Local dinners and food days work when people live nearby.

Ask a restaurant for a gift card. Or add a [New Orleans food day](https://charityauctions.com/risk-free-auction-items/new-orleans-food-day) if you want a ready day out.

### Sports

Boosters and youth sports nights like a game prize.

Ask for local tickets or team gear. Add a [Wrigley Field rooftop night](https://charityauctions.com/risk-free-auction-items/wrigley-field-rooftop) when a gear basket is not enough.

### Family and kids

School and PTO nights like prizes families can use this week.

Movie night, game night, zoo passes, and kids art kits. Keep each prize to one theme.

### Gift cards and local shops

A card to a place people already go is easy to want.

Bundle a few local cards if one card feels small. Keep the bundle to one idea, such as dinner or a day out.

### Baskets

Baskets are a prize type. The themes live on another page.

See [raffle basket ideas](https://charityauctions.com/raffle-basket-ideas) for 50+ themes you can build. See [gift basket ideas for fundraisers](https://charityauctions.com/gift-basket-ideas-for-fundraisers) for themes that also work on a silent table.

## Need one prize bigger than a donated gift?

Add a risk-free package as your grand prize. Pay the nonprofit cost only if it is awarded.

Get prizes

## How to Get Raffle Prizes

You have three ways.

- **Ask people.** Friends, board members, and parents can give a gift that fits one theme.

- **Ask a local shop.** Restaurants, salons, and sports shops often say yes. Offer a thank-you on a card.

- **Add 1 risk-free package.** [Create a free account](https://charityauctions.com/auth/risk-free-start?utm_source=raffle-prize-ideas&utm_medium=cta&utm_campaign=package-list) and add a grand prize. You pay the nonprofit cost only if it is awarded.

## Raffle Prize Legal Notes

Raffle rules change by state.

- Many states need a permit.

- Some states limit cash prizes.

- Online ticket sales can have extra rules.

Check your state before you sell a ticket. See [US raffle laws in all 50 states](https://charityauctions.com/us-raffle-laws-in-all-50-states).

## Frequently asked questions

Short answers, written to be quoted.

### What raffle prizes sell the most tickets?

Prizes people can picture using this month. Family movie night, a restaurant card, a spa night, and a sports night work well. When you need a bigger prize, add a risk-free package such as a [Wrigley Field rooftop night](https://charityauctions.com/risk-free-auction-items/wrigley-field-rooftop).

### How much should a raffle grand prize be worth?

Match the prize to your crowd, not a fixed dollar rule. A school night can run on donated baskets. A dinner crowd may want one night-out package. You pay the nonprofit cost only if it is awarded. [Create a free account](https://charityauctions.com/auth/risk-free-start?utm_source=raffle-prize-ideas&utm_medium=cta&utm_campaign=package-list) to browse the packages. [Browse packages free](https://charityauctions.com/auth/risk-free-start?utm_source=raffle-prize-ideas&utm_medium=cta&utm_campaign=package-list).

### How many raffle prizes do I need?

Keep it small enough to run. One grand prize plus a few donated prizes is enough for a single draw. A basket raffle can show several themes. See [raffle ideas](https://charityauctions.com/raffle-ideas) to pick the format first.

### How do I get raffle prizes donated?

Ask people and local shops for gifts that fit one theme. Restaurants, salons, and sports shops often say yes. Offer a thank-you on a card or in an email. For a ready prize when asks stall, add a risk-free package. [Browse packages free](https://charityauctions.com/auth/risk-free-start?utm_source=raffle-prize-ideas&utm_medium=cta&utm_campaign=package-list).

### Can I source raffle prizes at no upfront cost?

Yes. Donated prizes cost you nothing. A risk-free package also has no upfront cost. You pay the listed nonprofit cost only if that prize is awarded. [Create a free account](https://charityauctions.com/auth/risk-free-start?utm_source=raffle-prize-ideas&utm_medium=cta&utm_campaign=package-list) to browse the packages. [Browse packages free](https://charityauctions.com/auth/risk-free-start?utm_source=raffle-prize-ideas&utm_medium=cta&utm_campaign=package-list).

### Are raffle prize ideas the same as raffle basket ideas?

No. This page is prize types: travel, a night out, sports, gift cards, and family gifts. Basket themes live on [raffle basket ideas](https://charityauctions.com/raffle-basket-ideas). Formats live on [raffle ideas](https://charityauctions.com/raffle-ideas).

### Do mission-linked raffle prizes work?

Yes, when the prize is still easy to want. A pet rescue can add pet care. A school can add a family night. Keep the prize simple. Then tell people how the raffle helps the work.
